      The Han Jade wares are the most precious and insurmountable in China's jade craftsmanship. The high-grade jade wares found in the Western Han Dynasty tombs in Xuzhou is the leader among them. There are many reasons about this. Xuzhou is not only the birthplace of the first emperor Gaozu of Han, but also the vast land of wealth. Of course, the kings of Chu had been tirelessly pursuing the beautiful jade. That is important.

      Look at these beautiful things that once belonged to the Kings of Chu and the nobles of the royal family. From meticulous selection of jade materials to professional divisions of labor, from gorgeous style design to beautiful color formed by infiltration and weathering for thousands of years, all reveal the wisdom and ingenuity of the unrecognizable craftsmen and the sincerity and grandness of the Han Dynasty.

      Due to the long-term burial and the damage of the wrongdoers of past dynasties, these treasures have either lost their glory in the past, or   separated and lost their functions. There are others lost in the history, still buried.

      Zuo Jun, born in 1982, is the deputy librarian. He is currently working at the Ancient Art Research Institute of Nanjing Museum, where he is engaged in archaeological and art history research. He has published  more than 30 research articles and participated in the compilation of several archeological excavation reports.
